die lit

Playboi Carti - Die Lit (2018)

This is one of my favorite albums in the trap music genre. Pierre Bourne's production style works perfectly with Playboi Carti's repetitive, simplistic vocals. Die Lit is not only an album that I love listening to, but one that has inspired my own music production a lot. My favorite tracks off this album are "Long Time" [note: this specific track was not produced by Pierre Bourne, but rather by Art Dealer], "Lean 4 Real", "Right Now", and "Mileage".

back from the dead

Chief Keef - Back From the Dead (2012)

This is one of the best Chief Keef mixtapes released. Back From the Dead features Chief Keef's captivating vocals, Young Chop's ahead-of-time production, and suprsingly good features (except for Soulja Boy). My favorite tracks off this mixtape are "I Don't Like", "True Religion Fein", "Deisigner", and "3hunna".

almighty so

Chief Keef, DJ Scream - Almighty So (2013)

Almighty So is another classic Chief Keef album. This album contains less production from Young Chop instead opting for a wider variety of producers. ALmighty So has notably influenced much of the trap music genre created within the mid to late 2010s, and features what basically in the future is considered the signature "glo" sound. My favorite tracks are "Sucka", "Ape Shit", "Self", "Nice", and "Yesterday".

rainbow bridge

Sematary - Rainbow Bridge (2019)

Although I am a fan of Sematary's newer work, what keeps me coming back to this album is how unique the concept is; shoegaze and metal samples; plugg influenced production; Chief Keef-style vocals sung by Sematary and Ghost Mountain; horrorcore themes. My favorite tracks off this one are "Slaughter House", "Bunny Suit", "Dental Floss", and "Creatine".

Watch My Back

LUCKI - Watch My Back + days be4 storm (2017)

Watch My Back is Lucki's best album. It features some of the best production and sample use that I've heard in a trap album. The ambient cloud-rap sound of the instrumentals work perfectly with Lucki's druggy, low-key vocals. My favorite tracks are "Miss Me", "Poker Face", "Sunset", "Don't You Love Me", "New to Me", "Options", and "Over".

we had good times together, don't forget that

Sewerslvt - we had good times together, don't forget that (2021)

This is Sewerslvt's magnum opus. The album serves as a tribute to Sewerslvt's late girlfriend Angel. The sounds of this album range everywhere from ethereal, to melodic, to chaotic. My favorite tracks are "the last thing she sent me", "sick, twisted, and demented", and "goodbye".

Blonde

Frank Ocean - Blonde (2016)

This album combines Frank Ocean's beautiful singing with unique, ethereal production, and a cast of background vocalists such as Yung Lean and Beyonce. This is the only album that has ever made me cry. "White Ferrari" and "Ivy" are undoubtedly the best tracks.

MORE ALBUMS TO BE ADDED SOON! ~ Landnine, 5/12/24.
